Well, I didn’t make it to ballet this week. I forgot that my cousin was coming to visit. I’ll try again next week. In the meantime, I am enjoying the cousin-time and the hilarity that comes with it!

I did make it rehearsal on Sunday, and I worked so hard that my legs hurt for days! I actually enjoy sore muscles, because then I know exactly which ones I was using. I hurt in all the right places this week, so I know that my execution of steps and movement was correct! I love when that happens!

Betty Beguiles offered great advice this week with tips on cultivating a positive body image. This tip was one that I needed to hear. I know my muscles need a little tlc once in a while (ref. QT no. 2).
And Pamper It, Too! – God gave us bodies not only so that they may serve us, others, and–ultimately–Him, but also so that we could enjoy and revel in them! Treat yourself to bubble baths, massages, dips in the hot tub, or whatever brand of pampering delights you most. Learning to see our bodies as a source of pleasure is a very effective (and enjoyable!) way of learning to value them.

Last week, I mentioned that my next performance is coming up in a few weeks: Saturday, July 14 at the East Village Arts Party. And then I realized that I need to figure out what dances I’m going to present this year! I guess I should start working on that, huh?

On Wednesday, my sister retweeted Discount Dance Supply‘s tweet: ”You know you’re a dancer when you envision choreography to every song you hear.” True that! Every. Single. Song. It’s one of the perks of being a dancer that I cherish.

Prayer request from a dear friend who is like a sister to me. A quick prayer would be greatly appreciated!
